Q: How can I take advantage of Team Women's membership in my local chamber?
A: We are there to promote "Team Women" as the member. What I do is get the business card of everyone I talk to and tell them about Team Women. Following events, I send them a note or email saying how nice it was to meet them and asking them how I can support them in their business. Of course, at the end of the note is the info about my business. Most people will respond by asking how they can support you and this opens the door to sharing your business with them. Start by giving....And each connection is a potential customer or client for you. Also, wear your Team Women Badge to every event, since your business is on there. This allows them to ask about your business. A good way to start a conversation when someone asks why you are there is to say:
"I am here promoting my Team Women Chapter which is supporting me in growing my business. I am a "realtor" and have found personal referrals are the best way of growing and Team Women provides that. In this way, you are promoting Team Women (as the Chamber member) and letting them know what you do as well.
Q. How can I take advantage of my national Team Women membership?
A. There are many ways in which you can use your Team Women membership outside of your chapter.
Team Women members have the opportunity to visit any other chapter at no additional cost. Of course, your core profession cannot be represented in the chapter you wish to visit. Make a Team Women visit part of every trip you take!
All members are encouraged to use the Team Women member search whenever they or someone they know needs products or services not represented in their own chapter. If there are members in any chapter who can help you, that is considered a cross-chapter referral and is highly encouraged!
Make sure your profile and photo are udpated on www.TeamWomen.com. The website gets thousands of hits each day and is there to give you and your business more exposure!
Get on the calls! Each month we offer an All-Member call as well as a Team Women University (TWU) call. Both are intended to help you make the most of your membership and TWU is designed to give you expert advice on various aspects of your business. Both calls are free for members.

Happy New Year,Team Women!
Happy New Year and what an exciting opportunity we have in 2009 to grow our businesses. As the security of “jobs” becomes more tenuous, being an entrepreneur - with all the advantages it brings - is looking better and better. Being in charge of our own destiny allows us to rely on only ourselves to make things happen.
Team Women rocked in 2008 and we are thrilled by the great new members who have joined us from all over the country. I have seen more new states in the past year than in the rest of my lift put together. It seems no matter where I am attending a chapter meeting, there are several consistent qualities I see in our members.
Every member I meet is excited about her business and feels she is “lucky” to be doing what she is doing. I have had so many ladies tell me they don’t even feel like what they do is working. Another quality I see is how committed each is to helping other women succeed; which is the reason I am sure each is so successful herself.
When I describe the typical Team Women member as a: “Type A, hyper-tasking, over-achieving, often first born daughter” everyone chuckles and there are always quite a few who raise their hands and say, "That is me!”
We have many exciting things planned for 2009 and many of them are in response to the surveys you completed. (Thanks for doing that, by the way.) Many of you requested more training in business building skills and tools. Receiving a highly qualified referral is the most affordable, effective way of growing your business. Team Women is committed to supporting you in receiving quality referrals. Beyond that, there are many ways to create business success with both the new customers and clients you receive as well as your existing ones.
We are taking Team Women University to a whole new level in 2009. While all of us are experts in our core professions, there are many other pieces involved in running a successful, profitable business. Everything from marketing to great customer follow- up are key ingredients for growth.
During the last year we have brought in many great “niche experts” in their fields to share their expertise with you. All of the past calls are recorded and available on the Team Women website for our members. These have been "appetizers" so to speak, on many different topics, and we will continue to offer these calls at no cost to members.
In addition, in 2009 we are going to be adding some educational "entrees" as part of the Team Women University Graduate Program. Look for lots of opportunities to “Learn More to Earn More” which will be the Team Women Theme for 2009! With my background as a coach I know every skill we add to our tool belts increases our revenues.
Many of you heard and thoroughly enjoyed November's Team Women University call with Jane Dueber, President of Profit Partners, a consulting and training firm which specializes in helping entrepreneurs discover new streams of revenues in their existing business and help new business owners turn a great idea into a thriving, profitable business. After Jane presented the Profit Accelerator Model, we had numerous requests from members for more details and suggestions for ways to use this model in your businesses. So, to address your requests, we are kicking off the Team Women University Graduate Program (TWUGP) in January. TWUGP will allow members and non-members to get more details and personalized training from experts hand-selected by Team Women. Team Women members will be offered discounts or other special incentives for participating in the programs.
The first offering is a four week course directly with Jane Deuber (see all the details about two free introductory calls to learn more in the last section of this newsletter.) I have taken Jane's class and personally recommend it without hesitation.
In February, the Team Women University Graduate Program will continue with a six week program called “Get Clients Now.” This is a great way to make sure you are keeping your funnel full. Often we get so busy working in our business; we don’t take any time to work on our business. Get Clients Now gives you an easy and manageable way to do that which fits your style and comfort.
So, please join us as we, "Learn More to Earn More" in 2009 and beyond!

 Parties by Stacey has been booking entertainers for and performing at children's parties in Southern California for over 15 years!
Stacey began her career in event planning in 1993 when she went to work as an office assistant at a children's party entertainment company. A little over a year later she bought the business from the owner. Stacey has always worked with children and it was her goal to have a business that allowed her to work from home once she had children.
In 2006, 15 months after her 2nd son was born, Stacey purchased a 2nd entertainment company from a colleague who was moving out of state. This new company added many corporate clients to her list of customers and her jobs now included more company picnics, grand openings and company holiday parties. In November of 2006 another colleague approached Stacey offering a company for sale. Spurred on by the success she had with her other 2 businesses, Stacey purchased it and began offering singing telegrams and celebrity impersonators. Because Stacey believes in developing relationships with her clients and has built her businesses largely from repeat clients and referrals, she decided that a networking group would be a good way to expand her business. Networking with women (moms!) made the most sense, so Stacey decided to become a Founding President of Team Women in the west San Fernando Valley. Networking with the other women business owners in her group has been a fantastic experience so far. She has received leads for her business, developed friendships, and learned valuable tips and tools for running her home and business from the wonderful women in her chapter.
