Happy October Team Women !
I would like to welcome all of the new members and new chapters and welcome back many rejoining members! We are so excited to have you on the TEAM! We are growing and it is so exciting to see powerful women committed to growing hugely successful businesses and helping others to do the same.
The new business card holders have arrived and will be going into the mail shortly. And, yes they were worth waiting for. Very classy and contemporary looking and thanks for being patient. If you have joined in the last two months and do not receive your business card holder by the end of October, please let me know and we will get one right out to you.
Team Women has two booths scheduled in October. Team Women participates in these events to promote Team Women and market memberships in your chapters. This is one of the many ways we support you in growing your chapters.
October 20th is the Premier “PASS IT ON” Event which is being held at the Crown Plaza Hotel in San Diego. This event will showcase many of the experts from the “Pass It On” film, who will share their stories and their personal formula for creating inspired and successful lives.
California Governor and First Lady's Conference is October 23rd at the Long Beach Convention Center and attendance is expected to be over 11,000 women from all over California.
The tri-fold Team Women Brochures are due any day from the printer with all of the new information and a new look. We will be sending a supply to each Chapter President to use in marketing and promoting their chapters. The next marketing piece we will be doing is the Team Women Postcards and will send those out when we have them.
As a reminder, Team Women offers a recruiting bonus for referring new members who join Team Women. The program pays $25 for every three members you refer who join Team Women anywhere in the country. There is no limit to the number of times you can receive this bonus.

With two small children at home and an itch to get out and do something for herself, Kristen Scott started looking for a business opportunity she would enjoy. Team Women Recommended Book of the Month:
I have been an avid reader my whole life and always reply "reading" is one my favorite things to do. Books have enriched my life in many ways. My business success has been very much impacted by being a continual learner. I love sharing what I have read and decided a recommended book of the month would be a great addition to the monthly Team Women Newsletter. Let me start this process off with a quote by a man I am very proud to call my friend, Charlie Jones. The first time I spoke with him I shared my favorite book quote with him which I said truly captured how I felt about life. Imagine my surprise, when he said that was his quote!!!

The first book recommendation is "The Referral of a Lifetime" by Tim Templeton. It is easy for me to remember the author since Templeton rhymes with simpleton and this book really touches on the basics of being successful in business; creating a network of people who trust and respect you and will refer you to everyone they know who needs your services.
The book is written as a parable which always makes for very quick reading and this is definitely readable in a couple of hours. One of the chapters is titled "It's Who Your Clients Know." This is the whole premise upon which Team Women is built. Inside referrals are great. The key to massive success is outside referrals and those come from the people our team members know!
Tim identifies a four step system to implement to create a lifetime of referrals. Each is easy and doable. To be successful, just like in all other things, you must take action on the steps consistently.

This month's networking tip is taken directly from "The Referral of a Lifetime."
"One wonderful way to get to know people is though the magic of three simple questions. The next time you meet someone new and have briefly introduced yourself, ask them these three questions:
1. What is it you do?
2. What do you like most about that?
3. If you could start over, knowing what you know now, what would your day look like?
And the bonus follow-up statement to use whenever you choose is "Tell me more."
I guarantee you will make more friends. You will be found more interesting and have less pressure and stress in your life when it comes to meeting new people and prospects."
