Each month we will include an idea to help chapters grow. This month's tip comes from the Santa Clarita Chapter.
Secure a Team Women booth at a local conference or networking event and have chapter members take shifts. Not only is this a great way to market your chapter to potential members, but also a way for your chapter members to share their individual businesses with the community. Team Women Corporate may be able to help with costs; contact support@teamwomen.com for more information. See pictures under "Women On the Move".
Great job, Team Women Santa Clarita, and thanks for sharing.
"If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it." — Margaret Fuller
Does your chapter have a tip to share? Email it to: support@teamwomen.com

We are offering a Special Fall Recruiting Bonus Program. For every member you refer (lists you on their application) between the dates of October 15 and December 31 you will receive $20! Again, you can earn this as many times in this period as you can! We want to concentrate on growing all of our chapters this fall and being ready to start the New Year with all of our chapters ready to rock and roll in 2008!!!

Happy Turkey Month (or Tofurkey!)
Another great Team Women month and every day I am so grateful to have the opportunity to be blessed to work with so many wonderful and powerful women!
Our booth at The Women’s Conference in Long Beach was fun and there were over 10,000 who attended the event and we spoke to lots of them! The Pass It On Event in San Diego was great also and thanks to all of the Team Women Members who helped us work the booth.
This month I had the pleasure to visit Team Women Huntington Beach and what a great location. They meet at member Alison Hathaway’s place of business which is a little outside the norm. Allison owns The Huntington Beach Equestrian Center. I turned into a long driveway running up a slight hill past several horse rings. There were all sorts of people out riding, practicing dressage, doing jumps. Not your normal day at the office. At the top of the hill we met in a large open room with hard wood floors and a big fireplace. For more about the great speakers and some of my first video clips with my new camera, check out the Team Women Blog at www.teamwomenusa.com/blog.
With three more new chapters opened this month, we continue to expand across the USA. In 2008 I am going to be “going on the road” and plan on visiting every chapter. I would love to have at least one stop in every state. If you live in a state where we have no chapter yet; I am eager to speak to you about opening one! Feel free to call me directly. Opening a chapter is very easy and we support you every step of the way.
Remember the recruiting special bonus is still going on through the end of December and we are still giving $10 to any member who comes up with a new profession to add to the category list which has not been suggested.
What are you thankful for this month? I am thankful for:
1. Each of you
2. My great family
3. The opportunity to do what I love every day
4. To be able to start each day fresh
5. Being alive
6. The wonderful people in my life who support me in more ways than they know
Have a great month and be thankful every day! The more we appreciate what we have, the more comes into our lives!
Cheers, Judi

Finding that perfect career opportunity takes time and not everyone falls into their dream job right away. Darcy Stevenson was looking for an opportunity to work less and earn more. Not because she is lazy by any means, but because she is a busy mother of four children who are constantly on the go. They say, “third time is a charm” and in her case it was. She found exactly what she was looking for as an Independent Coach with Million Dollar Body. Darcy is focused on her own health and fitness and so becoming a coach was a no brainer.
Million Dollar Body is a national network of Coaches who are committed to their customers. As a coach, Darcy will guide you, inspire you, and connect you to an amazing online community of people who want to get in shape and live that way the rest of their lives.
As the Chapter Founder of Team Women Hollister, Darcy had this to say, “Team Women has been a great outlet for sharing my business with others. It allows me to talk about what I do and why I do it in a group of fellow networkers who care about my success and show their support through qualified leads.”

Team Women Recommended Book of the Month:
I have been an avid reader my whole life and always reply "reading" is one my favorite things to do. Books have enriched my life in many ways. My business success has been very much impacted by being a continual learner. I love sharing what I have read and decided a recommended book of the month would be a great addition to the monthly Team Women Newsletter. I would like to share a quote by a man I am very proud to call my friend, Charlie Jones. The first time I spoke with him I shared my favorite book quote with him which I said truly captured how I felt about life. Imagine my surprise, when he said that was his quote!!!
"There are essentially two things that will make you wiser-- the books you read and the people you meet." --Charley “Tremendous” Jones
This month's book is "Why Your Life Sucks" by Alan Cohen.
This is a great book and the title always gets attention! The subtitle is "...and what you can do about it." Alan shares 10 reasons we may not be living our optimal life and how to improve in each of them. I used this book in my coaching business to conduct 10 week group teleclasses and everyone found the book funny, helpful and oh so true.
As an example, Reason Number 6 is "You keep saying yes, when you mean no." If anyone does this, Alan shows us how dis-empowering this can be when we do this. One of the reasons Alan gives for us doing this is "we are afraid people will not like us if we say no." Sound familiar?
This book is available on Amazon for $10.20 and you can click on the title below to learn more about it. Or I have a limited number of copies available for $7.00 for Team Women members plus shipping and handling.

Testimonials from Team Women Members

"I can honestly say that I was never affected by the question of the success of an undertaking. If I felt it was the right thing to do, I was for it regardless of the possible outcome." —Golda Meir

As I mentioned earlier, I attended The Women's Conference in Long Beach this past week. One thing which totally surprised me was how many women there had not brought along any business cards. I was amazed. As simple as this sounds, you always need to have a good supply of business cards with you at all times. Have them easily accessible so you can immediately hand one to someone who asks for your card. Business cards are a very inexpensive and yet extremely effective way to market your business.
Remember - Don't leave home without them!
